Outstanding Resources

The Bangor University Archives and Special Collections includes documents, estate records, rare books and other material relating to Wales from the medieval period onwards.

Bangor is situated in a region exceptionally rich in archaeological and historical monuments ranging from Neolithic tombs to Iron Age settlements, Roman forts, medieval castles and industrial slate quarrying landscapes.

Canolfan Bedwyr is Bangor University's Centre for Welsh Language Services, Research and Technology provides a rich resource for a wide variety of services and research relating to the Welsh language.

Bangor University’s Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre provides an ideal venue for a range of performance and other events.

Postgraduate Students

There are currently around fifty postgraduate research students working on Wales in both Welsh and English across the Arts and Humanities and language policy and several master’s programmes. Research Centre Wales acts as a forum for postgraduate students and co-ordinates events such as postgraduate conferences.
