Research Centre Wales brings together all those at Bangor University who work on Wales in both Welsh and English across the Arts and Humanities and in language policy.
Understanding the cultures, languages, and identities of Wales, their origins, development and how they are perceived today is essential for the future of a small country. Bangor University has a long-standing, vigorous and internationally recognized research community working on Wales. Our research includes language and literature in both Welsh and English, the history and archaeology of Wales, the creative arts, music and performance as well as bilingualism and language policy.
Research Centre Wales will foster, co-ordinate and promote research on Wales in the Arts and Humanities and language policy at Bangor University, provide a forum for cross-disciplinary research on Wales and, through a range of projects and events, reach out into the community locally, across Wales and globally.
